Crayford Camera Club and our members

Crayford Camera Club has been bringing photography to its members since 1948 which makes it one of the oldest photographic clubs in the area. We have a small membership covering all ages of both ladies and gentlemen, making for a good friendly and family-like atmosphere, where everybody is happy to help somebody else.
As a club, we are very much interested in promoting all styles of photography as an enjoyable and fulfilling pursuit. Our members preferred genres are also varied and far reaching, including most aspects and styles of photography and how the images are processed and presented. Although our members use mainly digital photography equipment and processing, there are some that use film also, and have an extensive back catalogue of film prints and slides.
Every effort is made to ensure that the programme is well balanced, having something for everybody to enjoy. As well as practical and model meetings, we invite speakers to give talks on a  varied range of subjects. Recently  we have enjoyed presentations covering travelogues, street photography, capturing movement and speed, wildlife, safari and even mountain trekking.
We also invite our own members to host evenings where they can tell us about the photography that is important to them, be it their own or the work/genre of others. This helps our club stay 'up to date' without losing its photographic heritage, due to the club membership being a smorgasbord of time served enthusiasts and those that have discovered the hobby more recently in the digital era.
Our members are also invited to enjoy a full and varied programme of competitions. These are mainly domestic club comps, but we do also give our membership the opportunity to enter work into interclub and county competitions. The club also encourages and supports members that wish to enter national and international competitions, be it within the club federations (PAGB affiliated) or the wider community.
We are friendly outside of the club confines too, and arrange social outings to galleries and exhibitions, as well as photo walks. These range from local areas to further afield and have included just a couple of us all the way up to the majority of the club.
Don't just take our word for it though. We would like you to 'try before you buy' and invite you to come along to three meetings to see what we are all about, without obligation. If you don't enjoy our club we will set you free to see what the other clubs in the area have to offer.
